This guide applies to users of the Volaby app that have enabled push notifications.

If you have turned off push notifications, but wish to enable them, you can:

  • Volaby App: Navigate to the 'Me' tab in your navigation bar and click 'Notifications' > 'Notification Settings'

  • Your Device: Navigate to your device's app settings and find Volaby. Click to enable Push Notifications.

Types of Push Notifications - Default

Volaby will send push notifications, by default, when:

Roster Published - "You've been rostered!"

Sent when a user is rostered. Contains the activity name and date of the rostering.

Roster Updated - "Your roster has changed"

Informs users of details regarding changes to their rosters. This is sent if the session rosterings are added, altered or removed.

Bulletin Published

When a new bulletin is created by a volunteering organisation, users are notified depending on the bulletin's segmentation.

Roster Cancelled

Informs all rostered users of a cancellation in an upcoming roster.

Roster Removed - "You're no longer expected to attend"

Sent when a user is removed from all sessions within a roster. Contains details on the activity and roster date, informing them they are no longer to attend.

Types of Push Notifications - Configurable

Volaby allows organisations to configure a number of additional push notifications. We encourage organisations on Volaby to minimise the number of push notification types and frequency delivered to users.

Roster Reminder

Sent when a user is rostered at a configurable period (hours) before roster is due to take place.

Activity Report Reminder

Sent to rostered users at a configurable period (hours) after a roster has finished and the activity report has not yet been completed.

Task Expiry

Sent to volunteers at a configurable period on, before or after, a task expires.
