The Insights dashboard is a customisable widget-based view available on the Manager Dashboard. Use it to build a real-time overview of the metrics, action items, and trends that matter most to your organisation.

Navigate to Management > Dashboard and select the Insights tab.

Adding a widget

  1. Click Add Widget in the toolbar

  2. Choose a widget type

  3. Configure the data source, filters, and display options

  4. Click Save

The widget appears on your dashboard grid. You can add as many widgets as you need.

Widget types

Number widgets

Display a single numeric value. Choose from:

  • Total — sum of values over the selected time range (e.g. total hours volunteered)

  • Average — mean value over the time period

  • Tracking — cumulative total across a time interval (daily, weekly, or monthly)

  • Target — progress against a pre-defined goal

  • Custom Multiplier — a calculated value using a user-defined multiplier

Chart widgets

Visualise data over time or broken down by dimension. Chart types include Column, Bar, Line, Area, Scatter, and Pie. Configure:

  • Data source — which metric to chart

  • Dimension — break down by time, program, activity, activity tag, or incident category

  • Grouping — group bars or lines by program, activity, or tag

  • Time range — the period to chart

Number + Chart widgets

A single widget combining a headline number with a chart visualisation underneath.

Table widgets

Display lists of data with filtering, such as roster cancellations or upcoming volunteer birthdays and anniversaries.

Requiring Action widgets

Show counts of items needing attention, filtered by program, activity, or tag. Types include activity applications, waitlistings, incidents, incomplete reports, program applications, task approvals, and volunteer applications.

Filtering widgets

Every widget supports filtering by Programs, Activities, and Activity Tags so you can scope each metric to the part of your organisation that matters.

Editing the layout

Click Edit in the toolbar to enter layout mode. Drag widgets to reposition them and resize by dragging the edges. The dashboard uses a four-column grid that auto-snaps widgets into place. Click Save to keep your changes, or Cancel to revert.

Editing and removing widgets

In edit mode, click a widget to edit its configuration, or use the context menu to delete it.

Permissions

The Insights dashboard is available to Program Managers and Admins. The Insights feature must be enabled for your organisation.
