Volaby can send automated reminders and messages to volunteers based on triggers like upcoming shifts, birthdays, or incomplete tasks. Configure these in Admin Console > Communications > Reminders & Automations.
Types of automations
Roster reminders — sent before upcoming shifts (e.g. "You have a shift tomorrow")
SMS roster reminders — text message reminders before shifts (if SMS is enabled for your organisation)
Task reminders — prompts for volunteers with incomplete tasks
Birthday messages — sent on the volunteer's birthday
Anniversary messages — sent on their volunteering anniversary
How automations work
Each automation has a trigger (e.g. "3 days before shift"), a recipient group (all volunteers, program-specific, role-specific), and a message template. The system sends automatically at the configured time.
Managing automations
Enable or disable individual automations, adjust timing, and edit message content from the Reminders & Automations section.
