Features & Enhancements:
User Tags:
Volunteers can now be labelled with user tags - a flexible way to record the things that sit outside roles and programs, such as skills, qualifications, languages, equipment, or availability patterns.
Create and manage them in Admin Console > Tags > User Tags. Each tag has a name, a colour, an optional description explaining when it should be used, and an optional group so related tags stay together. Tags you no longer want applied can be archived - they stay on the volunteers who already have them, but can't be added to anyone new.
On a profile: assign tags from the Personal Details section of any volunteer's profile.
In bulk: select volunteers in your Volunteer Database and use 'Add Tag' or 'Remove Tag' to update everyone at once.
Filtering: filter the database by one or more tags, matching volunteers who hold any of them or all of them.
Columns and exports: turn on the Tags column to see them inline, and every CSV export gains a Tag(s) column.
Prevent Overlapping Sessions:
A new organisation-wide setting in Admin Console > Operations > Availability stops volunteers from being rostered onto two sessions that run at the same time, even when those sessions belong to different activities.
With it on, a session that clashes with something the volunteer already holds is greyed out in the session picker and labelled 'Clashes with ...', so they can see why before they try. Backup selections are still allowed to overlap, and managers can still roster someone wherever it's warranted.
Multi-Page Forms & Tasks:
Long forms and tasks can now be split across several pages. Use Add page break in the form builder or the task builder, give the page a name, and everything after the break starts a new page.
Volunteers and respondents get Back and Next buttons, a progress indicator, and a 'Page 2 of 4' counter. Next only checks the questions on the page in front of them, so they aren't stopped by something further on. If a final submit turns up a missed required question, they're taken straight back to the page holding it.
Applicant Communications:
You can now email or SMS an applicant directly from their record in Incoming Volunteers, without waiting for them to become a volunteer.
A new Communications panel sits alongside Comments in the applicant's detail view and lists everything that has been sent to them - emails, SMS, and the onboarding reminders Volaby has sent on your behalf - newest first. Sending from the panel refreshes the history immediately, so you can see the result straight away.
Access: only managers with permission to view an applicant's communications can see their email and SMS history.
Reminders: 'Send Reminder' is now correctly disabled for applicants still awaiting screening review.
Status: removed volunteer profiles now show an 'Inactive' status so it's clear at a glance why they've stopped progressing.
Changing Event Session Selections:
Volunteers rostered onto an event activity can now change their mind without withdrawing and starting again. Choosing 'Update availabilities' reopens the date and session picker with their current selections already ticked, and saving adds the sessions they've added and removes the ones they've unticked.
Withdrawing from an activity now also clears any draft rosterings the volunteer was holding.
Form Response Analytics:
The Summary tab on a form is now calculated on the server rather than in the browser, which makes it considerably faster on forms with a lot of responses.
Submission trend: responses are now grouped by date in your organisation's local timezone, so the daily counts line up with when the responses actually came in.
Choice questions: statistics now distinguish between the total number of responses and the number of unique respondents, which matters for questions where someone can tick more than one option.
Permissions: raw submission rows and task field mappings are now restricted to the admins and program managers who own the form.
Fixes:
The 'Applicants Only' setting is now only shown on tasks where it can actually apply.
Archived user tags can no longer be applied to a volunteer, individually or in bulk.
Deleting a user tag now warns you first, and tells you how many volunteers currently hold it.
Failed tag creation, edits and deletions now report the reason instead of failing silently.
User tag names can no longer be saved empty.
The profile 'awaiting review' screen has been rebuilt to match the rest of the onboarding flow.
