You can create many activities at once by importing a CSV file. Before anything is created, you can review and fix every row in a grid.
Starting an import
Navigate to the Import Activities page. Then either:
Click Download template to get a CSV with every column and example rows, or
Click Start with a blank grid to enter activities directly
Upload your CSV by clicking the upload area or dragging the file onto it. Each row is one activity.
Activity types
Set the type column to one of these:
regular: needs a start date and frequency. End date, repeat days (weekly or fortnightly) and repeat interval are optional.
once-off: needs a start date.
flexible: dates are optional. A roster is created for each date.
event: needs dates. A roster is created for each date, and sessions repeat on every date.
self-directed: no dates. Sessions are the actions volunteers complete.
Formats
Sessions: session_1, session_1_desc, session_1_start and so on. Add session_2, session_3 and more as needed.
Yes or no: enter yes or no. Leave blank to use the default for the activity type.
Lists: separate tags, roles, dates and repeat days with a semicolon (;)
Dates: YYYY-MM-DD or DD/MM/YYYY
Times: HH:mm, for example 09:00
Report type: the report type's name. Leave blank for no report, or enter "auto" for no report with impact still tracked.
One-off sessions
Regular and event activities can include one-off sessions, which run only on certain dates. Use these columns:
session_oneoff_1_date
session_oneoff_1
session_oneoff_1_desc
session_oneoff_1_start
session_oneoff_1_end
session_oneoff_1_min
session_oneoff_1_max
session_oneoff_1_report_type
Add session_oneoff_2 and so on for more.
List dates separated by semicolons. The session is added on each date, and every date must be one the activity already runs on.
Reviewing the grid
After upload, every activity is shown in a grid. The summary shows how many are ready, have issues, are created or failed. Turn on Only rows with issues to focus on what needs fixing.
Edit cells directly in the grid, or click a row to open the full activity panel. Use Add activity to add rows, or Add one-off session in the panel. Columns that weren't recognised are listed at the top and ignored.
Creating the activities
Click Create X activities when you're ready. Only rows with no issues are created. If a row fails, fix it and create it again. Rows that were already created aren't duplicated.
Click Start over to clear the grid and upload a different file.
